Valencia – The Vithas Valencia 9 de Octubre Hospital has signed a scientific cooperation agreement with Lishui Central Hospital, located in Zhejiang Province (China). This agreement establishes a framework for collaboration in academic and clinical activities between both hospitals, including medical seminars, training programs, applied research, and the transfer of knowledge in areas such as surgery, diagnostic imaging, and preventive medicine.
This alliance reinforces the Vithas Group’s commitment to clinical innovation, medical excellence, and the internationalization of its services. Moreover, the agreement opens new opportunities for the professional development of medical teams and for the continuous improvement of patient care.
According to “Victoria Verdú”, Territorial Director for the Mediterranean area at Vithas, “this collaboration agreement lays the foundations for a relationship that promotes international cooperation through the development of joint projects between Vithas hospitals and Chinese healthcare institutions. These initiatives focus on the exchange of medical knowledge, professional training, joint research, and the improvement of healthcare processes”.
For “José Luis Rey”, Managing Director of Vithas Valencia 9 de Octubre, “this agreement with Lishui Central Hospital represents a decisive step toward a more connected, more humane, and more innovative healthcare system. Participating in international training programs provides a broader perspective—not only technically, but also humanly”. He emphasized that “Lishui Central Hospital has 51 clinical specialties, over 2.166 beds, and performs more than 30.000 surgical procedures per year. It is a reference center in cardiovascular medicine, general surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, and hematology, and has been recognized as advanced in stroke treatment. The hospital also stands out for its more than 200 high-tech medical devices and its strong focus on research”.

During the ceremony, “Mr. Xu Min”, Deputy Director of Lishui Central Hospital, expressed “sincere gratitude for the warm welcome and the visit to Vithas Valencia 9 de Octubre Hospital’s facilities”. He highlighted that “this visit and the signing of the agreement represent a very significant step in the international development of Lishui Hospital and a valuable opportunity to strengthen medical and scientific cooperation between China and Spain”. Prior to this agreement, on “September 30”, Vithas Valencia Turia Hospital hosted the signing of another collaboration agreement between Vithas hospitals in the Valencian Community and the Federation of Chinese Associations, aimed at strengthening ties between both entities and improving access to high-quality healthcare services for the Chinese community residing in the region.
